All About Me...

So.. you are still interested in me eh?! Well, I was born in Singapore 19 years ago.

I joined the NCC (land) unit as an ECA when I was 13 years old in secondary one (Part A). Before I could actually join the group, I have to pass the medical check up conducted by the SAF medical officers to ensure that I am fit for the rigorous training that they will put me through. After selection, I was one of the 38 that passed and was given a set of NCC uniform :))

I have my first taste of military experience during this period, training every Saturday from 8am to 2pm. Routine training include physical training, footdrill and lecture on military knowledge. There were about 4 camps that we had to go through in the 1st year, each camp duration was between 4 to 8 days in school compound or at Jalan Teck Whye Camp. I also learnt about and handled the M16 rifle. At the end of the year, I passed the Part A Proficiency test with flying colours after much hard work!!

During my second year in the corps, I went on to a whole lot more of new and interesting stuff like Individual Marksmanship Training- which was held at SAFTI, 25m Range M16 Classification at ITC, Orienteering training, more courses and more field camps. The intensity of physical training was also increased as we were required to meet a minimum level of physical proficency.

In my third and forth year (aka Part C & D) with the school and corps, I learnt more about IFC, and the ranges for firing the M16 is increased to 100m. I was selected for the Specialist Course, the Army-NCC Badge test at the SAF Maju Camp, as well as the 11 day Outward Bound School training, which I find was very good experience.

Well that's about all for the time being. I'll include the next 2 or so years of my life when I have the time.
